About Us

Trinocular Films was started in a rat infested building in downtown Halifax by Luke & Nick Hansen-MacDonald. Since then they have moved to a much nicer location in the South end, though they will always miss the sound of vermin scurrying through the walls.

Acting as co-directors, co-cinematographers, and co-editors, the Hansen-MacDonald brothers have worked with the best HipHop artists from Atlantic Canada, including Juno nominated artist Classified. Their music videos have been featured on the MuchMusic & MuchVibe TV stations, 2dopeboyz.com, and many other of the North America's top HipHop websites.

Their passion for music has led them to event filming as well. Concerts provide a level of spontaneity that you can't find anywhere else. There is always the chance that you might be lucky enough to capture a musician's best performance of their career. The Hansen-MacDonald's try to bring a stylistic and original technique to every event, so their coverage captures the energy and life of the performance.

Though in the end their hearts remain in narrative film, and they continue to work in this field whenever the opportunity presents itself. Having had two short films in the Atlantic Film Festival they are working their way toward national exposure.
